Nationality Requirements
For Undergraduate Program Applications;
On the condition that they have graduated or expecting graduation from a high-school;
may apply to study as an international student at Altinbas University.
Applicants;
Are not eligible to apply as an international student.
For Graduate Program Applications;
Students who hold the citizenship of a country other than Turkey and The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus may submit an application as an international student for a postgraduate program at Altinbas University.
Academic Requirements
For Undergraduate Program Applications;
For equivalency certificate (for bachelor degree seeking students, it is obtainable from the Ministry of Education of Turkey or local Turkish Embassy certifying the equivalency of the diploma to that of a Turkish high school degree. For Master or PhD degree seeking studies, it is obtainable from the Turkish Higher Education Board certifying your previous education institution is recognized in Turkey), you can check the link below:

For Graduate Program Applications;
International students who have completed four years of bachelor studies (unless all the bachelor degrees are for 3 years in the country of education) in a university recognized by UK NARIC (UK National Academic Recognition Information Centre) may submit an application for a postgraduate program at Altinbas University. For PhD applications, students are also required to hold a master degree which requires a master thesis in the complete curriculum.
However, graduate institutes may require further documentation and/or exams results depending on the program of application. If it is the case, International office may contact you to ask for further documentation along with your application.
Please note that, even though you meet the academic requirements and are accepted for admission to the program of your choosing, if your previous studies are outside the study field of your choosing, you may be asked to take scientific preparation courses before proceeding to the program curriculum.
Language Requirements
If you would like to study a degree program which is taught in English, you must satisfy our English language requirements. Students who get the minimum valid score in our proficiency test or in one of the international exams recognized by the senate may start freshman year.

If students do not have a valid international exam result which is recognized by the university, they are able to undertake English language proficiency test to gain entry into their preferred program at Altinbas University. The University reserves the right to require that an applicant undergo a test of English proficiency, if the authentication of the international or national exam result cannot be confirmed.
Please note that PhD students must submit a valid score from one of the above mentioned exam results both in their online applications as well as in their registrations in Altinbas University, even if they pass the English profeciency test, regardless of the medium of instruction of their preferred program.
If your English test result does not satisfy English language requirements into your chosen program, students will have to proceed to the English Language Preparatory Department which offers English language program which provide the best chance of transitioning into study programs.
The Basic English Preparatory Program functions in 4 quarters each of which lasts 8 weeks. Altinbas University Preparatory School aims to provide students with enough English knowledge to carry out their academic studies in their study programs. Based on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), this program aims to help students develop reading, listening, speaking and writing skills.
Altinbas University Preparatory School, a modular system is applied. The program consists of four levels (A1, A2, B1, B2).
Students who enroll at the beginning of the academic year take the placement test and they are placed at the appropriate level according to their scores. Reading, listening, speaking and writing skills are assessed in the placement test. Those who get the passing grade take the proficiency test. Those who pass the proficiency test go to their faculties.
Please note that the English Preparatory School tuition fee is the same with the program that you are accepted. Which means that, if you fail to pass the English Proficiency test and are placed to the English Prep School, you will be making the same tuition payment as of the department that you are registered.
If you would like to study a degree program which is taught in Turkish, you must submit a TÖMER B2 certificate in order to prove your Turkish Profeciency. Students who cannot prove their Turkish profeciency for a program taught in Turkish, will not be able to start their studies.
